Avocados are listed as the #1 cleanest fruit on the Environmental Working Group’s (EWG) 2018 ‘Clean 15’ list. The list is a consumer-friendly guide to fruits and vegetables that contain the least amount of pesticides. Of the avocados tested by the EWG, less than 1% tested positive for pesticides and only one type of pesticide was found, earning avocados the first place ranking!
Avocados (Persea Americana) are commercially valuable and are cultivated in tropical and Mediterranean climates throughout the world.
Avocados naturally contain essential nutrients that the body absolutely needs: vitamins E, C, K, and the B vitamins (B1, B2, B3, B5, and B6), Iron, Potassium and Magnesium. It also has the highest protein and oil content of any fruit.
Avocados act as a “nutrient booster” by enabling the body to absorb more fat-soluble nutrients such as alpha and beta-carotene and lutein, in foods that are eaten with the fruit and play an important role in a healthy lifestyle which may bring benefits for skin, hair, health, and beauty.
